Jim's 9 Epic Gin and Orange Cocktails
Love Gin? Love orange? I've put together 9 of my absolute favourite gin cocktail recipes with orange.
Gin and orange is a match made in heaven for all you gin lovers out there. With a G&T or cocktail, that hit of orangey citrus really gives the drink a kick.
#1: 'Orange Blossom' Gin Cocktail with Orange Juice
Since the early 1900s an Orange Blossom has been a favourite at Sunday brunches.
- Start off by pre-chilling a Nick and Nora glass by adding ice (any small capacity glass or martini glass will do as well).
- Prepare garnish by peeling orange.
- Squeeze 30ml orange juice into shaker.
- Add 30ml citrusy Kraft Hopped Grapefruit Gin.
- Add 30ml Antica Formula.
- Throw ice from pre-chilled glass into shaker.
- Shake firmly.
- Strain mixture into cocktail glass.
- Finish off by adding a carved orange peel to top of glass as garnish!
#2: Blood Orange Paddington Gin Spritz

- Add 1tsp honey into shaker.
- Add 1tsp orange marmalade.
- Add 15ml freshly squeezed lemon juice.
- Add 50ml Kraft Hopped Grapefruit Gin.
- Stir to mixture to dissolve honey and maramalde.
- Add ice to shaker and shake well.
- Fill glass to the brim with ice.
- Pour mixture through a double strain into the glass.
- Top up with blood orange soda.
- Finally, use the orange peel to garnish cocktail
#3: Rhubarb Gin with Ginger Ale & Orange
This Rhubarb Gin and Ginger Ale cocktail with orange garnish is super quick and easy to make and tastes delicious.
- Grab a large copa (aka balloon) glass.
- Try to ensure your glass is pre-chilled and not warm.
- Add 50ml (i.e. a double shot) of your Roobee Rhubarb Gin.
- Add plenty of cubed ice.
- Crack open the ginger ale (or ginger beer) and pour into your glass.
- Slice a juicy orange wedge and place in your glass.
- Sit back and enjoy!
#4: Mediterranean G&T Orange & Rosemary
Want a SUPER quick and easy herbaceous and zesty G&T to make at home in literally 2 minutes?
- Grab a large copa (aka balloon) glass.
- Now the good stuff, add 50ml (i.e. a double shot) of your Mercato Mediterranean Gin.
- Add plenty of cubed ice.
- Slice your orange into a wedge or slice and place into your glass (you could also just use the orange peel if you like).
- Take a nice long sprig of fresh rosemary and delicately place into your glass (half in the glass and half poking out of the top).
#5: Krafty Paddington Orange Marmalade Gin Cocktail
This is another incredibly refreshing gin and tonic cocktail that you can make in less than 3 minutes at home.
- Pre-chill a small glass by filling it with ice.
- We opt for a classic 'rocks' glass for this one.
- Get a medium-sixed glass jar with lid.
- Pour in your citrusy Kraft Hopped Grapefruit Gin (made using zesty grapefruit peels).
- Pour in the sugar syrup
- Squeeze in half a lemon, roughly 25ml.
- Spoon in the orange marmalade.
- Add your ice cubes to the jar and close it TIGHT. SHAKE it all about for about 10 seconds.
- Next, get your rocks glass and freshly ice it up to the top.
- Now, double strain your shaken liquid (using a tea strainer) and pour over your rocks glass with ice.
- Garnish the top of the glass with a wedge of juicy orange (or an orange peel works great, too).
- Sit back and enjoy your super orangey gin cocktail!
#6: Classy Negroni garnished with Orange
The Negroni is one an absolute iconic gin cocktail. As you're sipping this Negroni, the flavour will change as the ice melts. You'll notice the fragrance stretches and allows even more botanical aroma to come through. The orange garnish gives it that little kick of citrusy orange.
- Add 25ml Mercato Mediterranean Gin to your rocks glass.
- Add 25ml sweet red Vermouth to soften up the spirit.
- Add 25ml of Gran Classico Bitter to bring some bitterness and botanical aroma to the drink.
- Top up your glass with cubed ice.
- Give it a gentle stir.
- Add a slice of orange to compliment the vermouth in the drink and to cut through the sharp bitterness.
- Sit back and enjoy your classic, classy Negroni!
#7: Painting the Roses Red: Gin Cocktail with Orange Bitters
Hosting guests? Turn a good evening into a great one by trying this signature drink that is simple yet elegant.
- Pour 50ml freshly-squeezed grapefruit juice into shaker.
- Add 10ml fresh lemon juice.
- Add 10ml simple sugar syrup.
- Add two dashes of orange bitters.
- Add 50ml London Dry Gin.
- Shake 3-4 times.
- Fill a tall glass with ice to the brim.
- Pour the mixture through a double strain into glass.
- Top up with rose / pink lemonade.
- Finally, create gravy boat with herb leaf. Place leaf on the ice then add rosebuds into leaf.
- Enjoy!
#8: Bold, Aromatic Gin and Tonic with Orange and Juniper Berries
Aromatic tonic marries up perfectly with the citrusy gin used in the recipe, with a beautiful balance of bitter, zesty and citrusy flavours coming through from the orange garnish.
- Grab a large copa (aka balloon) glass.
- Now the good stuff, add 50ml (i.e. a double shot) of your Kraft Hopped Grapefruit Gin.
- Add plenty of cubed ice.
- Crack open the aromatic tonic and pour into your glass.
- Slice your orange into a nice big wedge.
- Sprinkle in a small handful of Juniper Berries.
- Give it a gentle stir.
- Sit back and enjoy your citrusy, aromatic G&T!
#9: Classic Martinez Cocktail with Orange Bitters & Maraschino Cherry
Widely considered to be the ancestor of the Martini cocktail, the 'Martinez' is an iconic, classic gin cocktail.
- Firstly, pre-chill your Nick & Nora cocktail glass and leave it on the side.
- Get a mixing jug.
- Add in 40ml London Dry Gin to your mixing jug.
- Add 40ml Sweet Red Vermouth to your mixing jug.
- Add 2 tablespoons of Marasca Liqueur.
- Add 2 dashes of Orange Bitters.
- Ice up your mixing jug.
- Give it all a good stir to ensure the drink is well mixed and nice and chilled.
- Keep stirring and taste the liquid.
- Once the burn fades away and just before it gets watery, you need to stop stirring.
- You're now ready to pour the liquid into your pre-chilled glass.
- Garnish with a Maraschino cherry.
- Sit back and enjoy your homemade, iconic Martinez cocktail!
#10: Orangey White Lady Cocktail
The 'White Lady' is one of the classic cocktails. It's citrusy and creamy, and absolutely delightful. We use Curacao (a sweet orange liqueur) in this recipe.
- Pre-chill your glass.
- We suggest a 'coupette' glass.
- Grab your cocktail shaker.
- Add in 50ml Kraft Hopped Grapefruit Gin.
- Add in 20ml Curacao (sweet orange liqueur).
- For a touch more sweetness add 1 tablespoon of sugar syrup.
- Now add in 25ml fresh lemon juice.
- Add in the egg white. Tip: break the egg separatwley on the side so you don't risk getting the yolk in the shaker.
- Now give it all a firm shake.
- You're now ready to double-strain the shaken liquid into your glass.
- Wait 5-10 seconds for the froth to settle.
- Now you can add the garnish.
- Get your bitters (we use Peychaud's bitters) and spinkle a couple of lines over the drink.
- Sit back and enjoy your White Lady cocktail!
